Zanzibar is a beautiful island in Tanzania that comprises some of the world’s most beautiful sandy beaches with blue Indian Ocean waters that are shining with sparkling light. Zanzibar, an archipelago of many small islands, is a semi-autonomous area of Tanzania lying some 25 miles from the coast of the Indian Ocean. The two main islands are PEMBA Island, to the north, and the larger southerly UNGUJA Island, or Zanzibar as it's widely known. The waters around Zanzibar are excellent for diving and snorkelling because of the many colourful coral reefs. Many tourists also visit Stone Town, the oldest town in the city, where you can see the influences of the Persians, Arabs, Portuguese, and Africans who drove the market in the past. You will see many different architectures from mansions to churches and mosques in this city. j
