The only city in the world with a national park on its doorstep, Nairobi is the hub of East Africa and is packed with unique attractions, from bustling markets to fascinating historical sites such as the Karen Blixen Museum. Named after a Maasai watering hole, ‘encore Nairobi’, which means ‘place of cool waters, the city is also known for its leafy streets and parks. A modern city with towering skyscrapers and imposing architecture, Nairobi also boasts a beautiful skyline.

Uniqueness

• Nairobi National Park is located just south of central Kenya right next to and within the Nairobi city region.
• There is an abundance of bird species with the vulture and ostrich being two of the larger or more intriguing species.
• The most populous species are found among the ungulates. Impala, wildebeest, Hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle, Grant's Gazelle, and Eland.
• The majority of the habitats are dominated by open plains, grasslands, and scattered acacia trees.
